Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do the creams used before the session do?
The solarium lotions you use before the solarium session prevent your skin from drying out and maintain moisture balance in your body. In this way, you can prevent the formation of dead skin on your skin and greatly increase your tan.
  • How to clean devices?
After the devices are used, we use Cosmetico brand disinfectant products that we procure from Germany, which are specially prepared for solarium beds. This product destroys all viruses and bacteria that may be on the surface and does not harm your skin upon touch.
  • Should I make any preparations before the session?
No preparation is required before the solarium session. Make sure your skin is clean before use. In order to remove make-up etc. from your skin, you can use the make-up removal products available in our branches free of charge.
  • Can I go to the solarium during my period?
Using solarium during menstruation may cause various blemishes on your skin. We recommend that you take a break during this period.
  • How often should you go to the solarium?
Using solarium at intervals of 1-2 days until you achieve the skin color you want will help you achieve the skin color you want. At this stage, it will be sufficient to use it once every 15-20 days to maintain your skin color.
  • Can I go into the solarium if there are any wounds on my body?
No, if you have a fresh wound, you should protect your wound from the sun with UV-resistant clothing or sunscreen for at least three months. UV radiation can cause pigment to shift in the scar area, which can cause scarred skin to become permanently lighter or darker in color. In case of doubt, you should consult with your doctor.
  • Do I need to use any protection in the solarium?
No, you should not use sunscreen when using a tanning bed. In tanning studios, you will receive advice about your skin type and an individual tanning plan will be created to suit your skin type. The UV dose in bed is precisely determined – 15 minutes in a modern tanning bed corresponds to approximately 25 minutes of Turkish summer sun.
  • How does tanning actually happen?
When UV light hits your skin, your upper skin first reacts with a protective thick layer called a light callus. The UV-B portion of the light stimulates the formation of the brown skin pigment melanin in your skin's pigment cells. Skin cells enriched with melanin then migrate towards the skin's surface and provide a protective tan for your skin. Since this takes some time, the tanning process happens gradually. The UV-A component in sunlight immediately makes your skin darker by coloring the melanin that has already formed in the outer skin layers.
